Today’s fast-changing world has placed increased demands on employees to reskill, upskill, and adapt.
With this unprecedented change in mind American Public University is offering several new, career-relevant concentrations and courses, while also reimagining many that already exist. We are creating a comprehensive ecosystem that spans the entire student journey - from admissions to advising, plus course content and co-curricular activities.
This integrated approach is designed to elevate our students’ “signature skills”— Digital Literacy, Critical Thinking, and Growth Mindset. The result? Our graduates are equipped to thrive For Example, every single course in our Dr. Wallace E. Boston Business School now includes Artificial Intelligence.
Students can register for an exciting new degree program, four new concentrations, and high-demand coursework. One new program, the Master of Science in Computer Science through our School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), reflects the growing importance of advanced computing with AI skills
The four new concentrations are: Quantum Computing (within the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science); Robotics and Autonomous Systems (within the Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering); Blockchain and Digital Currency (within the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology); and Climate Change and Resilience (within the Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science).
We have also expanded course content thanks to a ground-breaking licensing agreement with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (MIT CSAIL). A Machine Learning in Business course is now available through our STEM School.
These exciting changes come are part of our three-year initiative we call “global digital journey” – which doubles down on our commitment to student-centric learning.

Founded in 1991 by a visionary retired Marine Corps officer who saw an innovative way to offer high-quality and affordable education to U.S. servicemembers, we have transformed into an innovative, global institution serving a wide-ranging population of nearly 90,000 students through American Military University and American Public University.
